Don't see so many independent offerings esp. single cask

Maybe worth a punt?

Up to you. It's an indie so it could be good or it could be a donkey. Each person is different but for me £95 isn't a lot to take a punt on something thats got you interested, however it is a lot (in my view) for a 12yo. Ardbeg aside.

If it were me I wouldn't bother, plenty more stuff out there for that price that I can pretty much be certain of the quality.

If you like Ardbeg though, and you can justify the spend, then it's worth seriously considering as you don't see many of them. The question is, would you get more enjoyment of of £95 or drinking that whisky? If it's the latter and you can afford it....well then.

I got am email from The Gleann Mor Whisky Company this morning announcing this bottling, it is tempting, an Ardbeg 12 year old bottled at cask strength of 53.7% and only 241 bottles, if it turns out to be good it could be very collectable and even a good investment.

I haven't had any of Gleann Mors stuff or even heard any reviews on it which is what is stopping me going for it.

Dr. Andrew Forrester, UK brand Ambassador for The Balvenie, spent six years working with William Grant & Sons UK . He then moved to Edinburgh-based Gleann Mor in sourcing rare whiskies from around Scotland for its collection. Forrester left William Grant & Sons in the summer of 2014 after a strategic reorganisation of the group's UK arm.

Gleann Mor is pretty new on the indie bottlers whisky map, I haven't heard anything yet about what they have bottled, but they do have a few tempting offerings. Will what they offer be any better than what Whisky Broker offers and WB's prices are cheaper. The Ardbeg 12 cask strength is tempting though.

I have met Andrew Forrester a few times over the years at various whisky events, I think he was amongst a few of the casualties to be let go by William Grant last year when they seemed to have a clear out of there brand ambassadors. Whether he is a positive endorsement of the quality of the Gleann Mor whiskies, I don't know, he certainly knew the Balvenie brand but a lot of these brand ambassadors are sales reps and of course are very gen'd up on the brand they are selling, some will have a good nose for whisky but some don't or hardly drink it.

Yes , I'm a big fan of WB, just got

18yo Ben Nevis, 70cl, 53.7% £44.50

amazing value for your £.

Problem is that he doesn't seem to get much from Islay..... too popular or expensive?
