Busted cork in whisky - how to filter

Had a bottle open with torn cork today, cork so badly disintegrated that the remainder left a big portion in small pieces in the bottle. Managed to switch bottles and get the larger and medium pieces out, but havent been able to filter out the smallest fragments. What is a good filter to use for this? How much can very very small cork pieces impact taste over a few weeks (bottle will be gone by end of a month probably)...?

Any tips appreciated. Wondering if cheesecloth will filter small pieces, haven't had another idea so far, since using a taste-neutral filter is a major issue.

I don't know, I would guess that any run-of-the-mill filter you use will affect the taste more than a few little pieces of cork. If you finish the bottle within a month I wouldn't bother with filtering. I'm no expert on the matter, mind you - will be interesting to see what others think.

Do you have a coffee filter or a fine tea strainer, i have used these on the 2 occasions this has happened to me in the past with no noticable effect on the taste of the whisky.

It has only happened to me once where the cork broke up into small pieces i poured the whisky into a bowl and fished the small pieces out with a spoon as i was worried a filter would remove some of the flavours.

i wouldnt think the small pieces of cork will have any effect on the whisky in just a few weeks. First i have heard of a tea strainer, cheers kenny i will keep that in mind.
