What i heard a while back was diageo wanted to buy LVMH but would not be allowed to buy own Glenmorangie and Ardbeg due to fare competition rules again nothing more than gossip and i dont know if there is anything in it.

I also had heard rumours that arbeg may change hands, hopefully if it does the price of the 10 year old will come back down to what it should be. Smile

Its the first i have heard bruichladdich has been sold, i guess we will know more tomorrow once these rumours have spread far enough to be confirmed or denied. I couldnt even guess who has bought laddie, if indeed someone has. I would hope it is one of the decent independents such as Douglas Laing who i believe would love to get themselves a distillery or perhaps Ian Macleod.

Its looking like the Ardbeg rumour is nothing more than a rumour also. Still odd that Hans Offringa went public with these rumours on the Dutch forum JAB linked to.

I agree it is very strange that Hans Offringa posted these rumours without substance.
