I was going to get myself a bottle of Springbank 10 year old which i havent had before but noticed the Springbank 10 100 Proof for only £5 more. I wondered what others thought of them. Is the 100 proof way better or is it worth getting both to compare. I see the Springbank 10 picked up the top prize in its category at the World Whisky Awards 2010 this is what has drawn me to it.

I would say both are excellent with the 100 proof having obviously more kick both richer than the light colour lets on.

As Bookie says both are excellent, personally i prefer the 100 proof certainly worth another fiver.

I would go ahead and get the 10 and if you like it then go for the 100 proof, as said they are both great drams.

For around £60 you will get the Springbank 18 which is very good also, loads of fruit and pepper.

Thanks for the replies, i was going to pick up a bottle from the airport but have decided to go for a couple of bottles of Glenlivets as they are on offer and due to hand luggage weight limits thats all i can carry but i think i will order the Springbank 10 when i return home.
