|
|
I have just purchased a bottle of Caermory Special Selection, Single Malt Scotch Whisky, Aged 15 Years, that is "Distilled on the Isle of Mull". The whisky is 56% volume.
Does anyone know anything about this? I can find no trace of a Caermory distillery either on Mull or anywhere else for that matter. The only distillery I have ever heard of on Mull is the Tobermory (Ledaig) Distillery. Have I bought a rogue/false whisky or is this genuine? _________________ John M Reid |

Tobermory is the only distillery on Mull, it produces both Tobermory and Ledaig whisky.
I have never heard of Caermory whisky, it may be an independent bottling. Does it say on the bottle who it was bottled by.
If you are not familar with independent bottlers you can read a bit about them here:

Thanks for the quick response. There is nothing on the bottle with regard to who bottled it. All it says is Product of Scotland.

| I have never heard of Caermory either, it sounds like it may be a independent bottling perhaps it has even been bottled by a private individual. Did you buy it from a shop? |

Hi Alastair,
I bought in on Ebay and was intrigued because I didn't know the name. I thought it woud be easy to find out and that I would have something a bit rare. I am not a great fan of Tobermory or Ledaig so I never bought it for drinking but might now as I am more intrigued than I first was.
