5th August
LAPHROAIG 1999 54.9% Cask 4199, £39.95
There's a little clutch of smaller distilleries owned by smaller companies which seem to follow a pattern: good value, consitently high quality bottlings without massive volume. What do you know, they've all arrived on our doorstep at the same time.
BENRIACH 16 Claret, £39.95
BENRIACH 17 Rioja, £43.95
BENRIACH 17 Burgundy, £43.95
GLENCADAM 12 Portwood, £33.95
GLENCADAM 14 Sherry, £40.95
GLENCADAM 21 Year Old, £51.95
GLENDRONACH 14 Sauternes, £41.95
GLENDRONACH 14 Virgin Oak, £41.95
GLENDRONACH 15 Moscatel, £42.95
GLENDRONACH 20 Tawny Port, £64.95
TOMINTOUL 12 Port Wood, £33.95
On a similar subject, here are some single casks from Glendronach. Don't expect them to last very long.
GLENDRONACH 1989 Cask 3315, £79.95
GLENDRONACH 1990 Cask 2621, £78.95
GLENDRONACH 1991 Cask 3182, £69.95
GLENDRONACH 1993 Cask 529, £66.95
GLENDRONACH 1978 Cask 1040, £165
GLENDRONACH 1971 Cask 489, £310
GLENDRONACH 1972 Cask 718, £295
From the independents...
CALEDONIAN 1965 Clan Denny, £116.95
GLEN SCOTIA 1992 Old Malt Cask, £61.95
LAPHROAIG 1992 Old Malt Cask, £56.95
LOCHSIDE 1991 Old Malt Cask, £64.95
MILLBURN 1981 Mackillop's Choice, £69.95
PORT ELLEN 1979 Mackillop's Choice, £150
PROBABLY SPEYSIDE'S FINEST 1967 42 Old Malt Cask, £129.95
Finally, a respectful nod in the direction of Bunnahabhain. The bottling strength of the 12 year old is now 46.3% and it is unchillfiltered.
BUNNAHABHAIN 12 Year Old 46.3%, £29.95 |

Cheers JAB, i hadnt realised that they had increased the ABV on the 12 year old, you must have an inside source as i cant even see the increase in ABV mentioned on the Bunna website. I have always liked the Bunna 18 but was never that impressed with the 12 but maybe worth another look now. |

| I just had a look at the Bunna web site also and cant see it mentioned, i think it will be like most whisky web sites it will be slow to be updated, thats why sites like this are the place to find the latest whisky news. It will be interesting to to try the new 46.3% Bunna. |
