|
|
| Now that the sun has been shining for more than 3 days in a row without rain i guess summer has arrived in Scotland. I wondered what others drink or would suggest as a good, enjoyable light whisky for drinking in the summer weather. If you are like me, i tend to keep away from the heavier peated whisky this time of year. |

Hi Gregor...
Now the sun has decided to show its face and wont go away i reach for one of my bottles of Auchentoshan,( ok i know it does not make a difference come sun or rain for me ) its usually a bottle of 12 or classic, both these bottles are light and easy to drink on a hot evening, i also like a wee nip of hp12 the nose on this is just fantastic........ |

| I must admit i tend to reach for the lighter style whiskies in the warm weather. Like Sorren i also enjoy Auchentoshans offerings, recently i have been drinking the Auchentoshan Three Wood. Also Cragganmore 12 is very enloyable and easy to drink on a summers evening. |

| Apart from peaty whiskies, I also normally avoid anything over 43% - I recently had a Glenmorangie Quinta Ruban and even though I like it I found it too rich and cloying in this heat. So I normally go for simple stuff - Glenmorangie 10, Glenlivet & Glenfiddich 12. Also I enjoy Bowmore Enigma when I want a hint of peat that's not overpowering. |

| I find Glengoyne 10 or Macallan 10 Fine Oak goes down very well on a warm night |

| good old Glenfiddich 12 and Glenmorangie 10 i find to be enjoyable on a warm night but it has to be a cold beer on a warm afternoon. |
