I received this press release earlier today about their Royal Highnesses The Prince of Wales and The Duchess of Cornwall opening a new expansion to The Glenlivet Distillery on Friday 4 June during a visit to Speyside.
You can read about it here:

What caught my eye was how much they have actually increased the production capacity by at the Glenlivet. They have increased production capacity by a masive 75%.

wow that is some increase in capacity, they must be really confident the demand is going to be there in years to come. |

| I dont think chivas would have a problem if they did over produce as it could go into their blends but it does seem that there is an ever increasing demand for single malts due to the previously untapped developing markets. All good news for whisky, Speyside and Scotland. |

| I bet Charles has an amazing collection of whisky tucked away which he has received through these sort of visits over the years. |

That is some increase in capacity, and the increase is to satisfy future the demand for single malt Scotch whisky not to chuck into blends. With such predicted increases in demand i wonder what we will be paying for a bottle of single malt in 10 years time.
I wouldnt mind an hour alone with Charlies whisky cabinet |
