I have a bottle of The managers dram which was bottled in 1994 to celebrate 200 years of Oban distillery. It's a 16 year old sherry cask whisky. This was given to the malt distillery mangers within United Distillers as far as I know. I work for Garmouth and Kingston Golf Club, and this was given to us by a member to auction off to raise club funds. I know that it is special, but have limited knowledge of whisky, and was wondering if anyone can give me some info about the bottle or an inkling of value. I've been asked to sell this on ebay, is this the best option? I had a look at some other sites, and seen one had sold one for £325, is this fair?
Any help would be greatly appreciated!
many thanks

Hi Donna
This would be considered a rare and collectable whisky and i would say that is a fair price. Not sure where you intend to auction it but it may fetch more in a specialist whisky auction such as Mctears of Bonhams who host a few specialist rare and collectable whisky auctions each year.

Hi Donna
If you decide to try sell it on ebay i would make sure you set a reserve price of at least £150 as you wouldnt want it going too cheap. ebay is like any auction it just depends on the day and the bidders.
Good Luck with the sale and post a link to your ebay auction if that is the route you choose to go, you never know you may get some interest from the forum members here. |

| I had a look at a few links and I'll check out some of the specialist auctions as well as ebay. That's a great idea about posting a link for here, thank you! As I said, we have no real knowledge on this or any other whisky, so I'll research a bit more then decide the best course of action. I'm tremendously grateful for your help. I'll be sure to set a good reserve, and £150 sounds fair thank you. |
