Gregor, thanks for that. That's the sort of thing we need to hear as if we don't know about it we can't fix it. I'll speak to the venue about this and make sure things move more swiftly next year.
Thanks again to everyone for the great response. It makes the effort and work worthwhile. I don't think we'll be doing a second day next year as most exhibitors are really busy at this time of year (their busiest time!) and would prefer to keep it to one day. Never say never, though. _________________ http://www.thegoodspiritsco.com

Great show butephoto, you have certainly put Glasgow back on the whisky events calendar. As already mentioned the ticketing and entry set up could do with a bit of sorting out but looks like you are already onto it.
i will keep my fingers crossed in the hope of a 2 day festival, or perhaps a spring festival, then we wont have to wait so long for the next one. |

Hi Mark/butephoto
Congratulations on a great event on Saturday, the first one is always the hardest. It certainly looks like Glasgow now has a whisky event worthy of the city and its great whisky history. I hope you found time for a few drams yourself on Saturday night.

Just a couple, but I managed to get hold of the dregs of the 45yo Glenfarclas that Fred Laing used in his masterclass!
We have 14 stands for next year taken already so it looks like more of the same next year! _________________ http://www.thegoodspiritsco.com

We have 14 stands for next year taken already so it looks like more of the same next year! | I wasnt at the Douglas Laing masterclass but was talking to Fred Laing at the DL stall where i had a number of very good whiskies such as a OMC 21 year old Linkwood which came from a 2nd fill sherry cask and an Old & Rare Tomatin 32 year old from a bourbon cask which was very good indeed. Also had a very good OMC Caol Ila which i think was 14 year old, i think, but i may be wrong.
I had a OMC Glenfarclas 43 year old Whisky Show (London) bottling last year which was very good. DL do seem to turn out some very good older whiskies. There stall is always a very good stop over at any whisky event.

They only had one bottle with them, in fact i think Fred said it was there last bottle. I think it was released in 2008 as part of the Douglas Laing Old & Rare series of bottlings. Basically it was there as a special dram to the visitors to the Douglas Laing stall rather than to promote it to sell it, obviously as there was only that 1 bottle left. I suppose it did represent the quality of Douglas Laings Old & Rare series.
You must have been late getting to the stall Mark as it wasnt hidden away for special customers like many companies do, it was fully on view and available for anyone to taste. |

| I usually find that the independent whisky companies such as G & M, Douglas Laing, Adelphi are usually the most enjoyable stalls at a whisky event. |
