Looks like i have missed it also, although there does appear to be a bit of a sarcastic response, was it needed.

I won't mention where else there will be competitions as that obviously requires signing up for other things too (a Facebook group and a mailing list).

Hi,

No sarcasm intended at all and I'm sorry if you took it that way. I just wanted to mention the rest of the post that I removed without actually mentioning it but that didn't work either it seems. I have tried to be as open and up front about this festival from the start as I feel that the problem with another festival is that you struggle to find out what's happening and who is attending and it all seems a bit faceless. I've been trying to keep this forum up to date with everything as well as my own and others when I can. My intention here was solely to point out a chance to win some tickets for this event as it is almost sold out, but I can see that it might have looked like something else which is why I removed the post.

I'll continue to keep you updated on the event if that's okay - there's one more announcement to come and that will be all the stands full.

Cheers,
Mark

Mark, I would love to enter your competition but i guess you arent paying travel costs, are you, lol

Does look a good line up you have put together, i would have loved the chance to come to this. I seriously considered flying over for the Whisky Show which looks like an amazing event also but costs were too much. Londons expensive, too many other outgoings this year, perhaps another time.

Anyway hope the festival is a great success.

Unfortunately not. Haha!

Thanks for the support. The event is now sold out. Masterclass tickets are still available from The Arches.

Our final exhibitor is Kilchoman. They are replacing Robert Graham who have decided not to attend.

Thanks again to everyone who has bought a ticket.

I just spotted that the Glasgow Whisky Festival official bottling will be a bottle of Highland Park 14 year old distilled September 13th 1996, hogshead cask no. 5373 52.3% ABV bottled by the Creative Whisky Company, not sure what the price will be though.

Never had anything from the Creative Whisky Company, in fact dont really know much about them. I am sure it will be a decent bottling if it has been chosen for the festival.

I have never had anything from them either.I am sure the festival bottling will be a good one, i would nt mind a bottle, well dependinding on the price. This is what it says on their website about the creative whisky company:
Quote:
About The Creative Whisky Co Ltd
Started in 2005, The Creative Whisky Co Ltd was created to continue a passion for outstanding single malt whisky. The founder/owner (solely responsible for all cask selections), David Stirk, had spent many years drinking, selling, making, finishing, packaging, talking about and writing about malt whisky. The previous Tastings Co-ordinator & Journalist for "Whisky Magazine", David also authored the books "The Malt Whisky Guide" and "The Distilleries of Campbeltown". He also spent time with Scotland's oldest independent bottler - nosing and selecting hundreds of casks each year, a very enjoyable time in his life. He has travelled the world hosting tastings and masterclass and is, perhaps, infamous, more for his jokes than his whisky. His strategy is always to enjoy whisky and at the same time provide informative, yet, humerous, tastings and hopefully anyone attending will like at least one of the whiskies.

Keith i am not sure, i dont see any mention of food on the GWF site, would be nice if there was a bite to eat even if you have to pay. I really wouldnt expect food given the ticket price was only £15
