I would love to attend the whisky show but i have just been doing the maths and the price of tickets, flights, hotel, taxis, trains and food would set me back hundreds. Now i dont know whether to blow £500 plus on a weekend of premium whisky or splash out on half a dozen new premium bottles for myself and stay home.

The second masterclass for Friday 29th Oct has been announced, it is the Diageo Managers Choice Masterclass.

Diageo Managers Choice Masterclass at The Whisky Show
We're delighted to announce that The Whisky Show's second Masterclass will be a journey through the cream of Diageo's Managers Choice single cask bottlings. This tasting will be held on Friday 29th October and will be hosted by Diageo's much-loved ambassador Colin Dunn. Colin will be taking us through five of the best of these cask-strength bottlings:

Clynelish 1997, 11yo, Bourbon Cask, 58.5%
Talisker 1994, 14yo, Sherry Cask, 58.6%
Inchgower 1993, 15yo, Sherry Cask, 61.9%
Lagavulin 1993, 15yo, Sherry Cask, 54.7%
Caol Ila 1997, 11yo, Sherry Cask, 58%
A fantastic line-up, and great to see rare sherry cask versions of the likes of Talisker and Lagavulin - while the sherried Caol Ila has been extremely highly-rated.

Tickets for this tasting are priced at £30

Just noticed that they have revealed some of the "Ultra Premium Drams" that will be available to taste this year. So far they are the Dalmore 40 year old, GlenDronach 31 year old Grandeur, Glenfiddich 40 year old.

I am still in two minds whether to go, quite expensive when you had traveling costs, hotels, meals and ticket price up. Maybe around £600 for the 2 days or should i just spend that money on whisky.

I see you can win a dram of the Dalmore 64 at the whisky show.

From The Whisky Show website:
Quote:
However, that's not all: not only will Whisky Show visitors be able to see one of the world's rarest ever whiskies in the flesh at The Whisky Show - one lucky ticketholder will actually get to taste it as well.

No, you're not hallucinating: during the Saturday session of The Whisky Show one visitor will be chosen at random to join the sold-out Ultimate Dalmore Masterclass, at the end of which, after tasting the creme de la creme of Dalmore, including the 40yo and the legendary 50yo Candela, the lucky winner will get to taste a sample of the precious Dalmore 64 Trinitas!

Glen Grant 1972 Sherry Cask
Bowmore 1995 Sherry Cask

There is a fourth bottle but i couldnt find what this is on the whisky show site.

The line up of whisky does look incredible, but i have decided not to go and spend the money on whisky instead. I calculated it would have cost me over £500 for flights, trains, taxis, hotels, food plus a day off work on the Friday. So i am going to spend the money buying a few nice bottles. Anyway enjoy it if you are going.

Andy unfortunately i didnt try the Trinitas, i had too many others to try first Laughing
They had it displayed in a glass display case with a security guard next to it who was the size of a small house, so i didnt even think about trying it Laughing Great looking bottle and box though.
