I only usually attend local tasting nights at a good independent bottle shop (Portland Wines in Southport) 3 or 4 times a year so making the trip down to London for this show is something really special for me - and not without it's costs! but lets not worry about that so much

Not long to go now... roll on the weekend

I went on the Sunday and had a great time, I really like the venue and with the terrace open at the back and the weather being so nice just standing beside the Thames with a glass of Balvenie 30 is something that I shall remember for a long time.

Some great dram's namely Balvenie 25 & 30, Brora 1977, Hanyu 15, Boutique-y-Macallan 29, Buffalo Trace Antique Collection W L Weller and George T Stagg to name but a few...

Tried to pace myself but you are like a kid in a sweet shop;

I managed to purchase a couple of show bottling's, the Springbank 21 and the exclusive Chichibu 2009 for £150.

I was there yesterday too. Was a long day but so glad I went, the three masters masterclass was fantastic and there were some other great drams along the way too. I agree that the venue is excellent and thankfully the weather was better than on the Saturday too.

Probably had too many drams and might approach things slightly differently next time but it was a brilliant day out.

I didn't buy anything on the day but I'm seriously tempted by the TWE 1999 Balblair I tried. Was really interesting to try the Compass Box 3yo Deluxe, the Glenlivet Cipher and Ardbeg Dark Cove amongst many others. There were some nice surprises in there too, namely the Indian whiskies of John Paul and Rampur and the Harviestoun beers.

With so many to choose from it's really hard to say what the dram of the day was but I really enjoyed the show exclusive Glenlivet Guardians Library dram.

Would love to go again, maybe next year
