Visited Isle of Arran distillery last week.
It's a bit of effort getting to Lochranza and back just for a day trip, but I'd say it was worth it. It's smaller than most I guess, but the staff are well-informed and helpful. The setting is lovely and the cafe is pretty decent. Although there wasn't a bar as such, you could try different drams in the cafe.
As always I could have happily walked round and round the shop for a week.
Oh and the ferry on the way back was doing double Ledaigs on offer, I did type £4.95 but I remember it seeming like a really good price, so it might have been cheaper that that or I may just have been feeling particularly cheery. |

I envy you. That sounds like a wonderful trip. _________________ "Always carry a large flagon of whisky in case of snakebite and furthermore always carry a small snake."

Will you also get to their newer second distillery Lagg? The site of the original is beautiful. A wonderful island. |

I definitely intend to, the challenge will be the ‘you have seen one, why do you need to see another?’ ......But I do love the peated whiskies so would be a shame to miss Lagg! _________________ Whisky is a form of art.
