I think that is one of things I find interesting about the American Oak is the subtle notes that remind me of Irish and a gentle citrus. I've just gone from a dram of that to a Jameson IPA cask which now shouts like a concentrated cordial in comparison.
One of the fascinating general asides is how the order of drams influences the perceived smell and taste. |
