What a find to discover somewhere that is actually stocking these in the UK, bloody hard to do.
This is retailing for around £40 a bottle and its worth twice a much.
Bizarre, all the smells of Christmas this has; nutmeg, cinnamon, Seville orange, ginger, cloves, allspice, but the taste is so much lighter than you expect. It's really refreshing and zingy, it does actually dance on ones tongue and really lights your mouth up.
Possibly one of the best noses I've stuck my gonk into. This and the Hibiki 21 I could just sniff all day and not even sip from.
Very sweet, thick body, all the flavours coming out but so very well balanced and not at all over powering or cloying.
Medium-long finish with the crisp rye a spice trailing off. Crystal clear.
You know, it's odd, this had so much Christmas about it you want to drink it in winter but it's made in such a way that you can mix it (do and die, it's too bloody good) and very summery. I'll be dragging this bottle out over a few months to get some sun out of it as I think it'll be a summer cracker.
(got a Balblair 1997 2nd release that I'm going to rate summer whisky so far as it's sooooo damn lively, but that's another story....pineapple drops...) _________________ "Too much of anything is bad, but too much good whisky is barely enough." |

See pm I've sent
Don't buy up all the stock, it's my local treasure trove. _________________ "Too much of anything is bad, but too much good whisky is barely enough." |

Much to my surprise I cannot find Sazerac here, a damn shame we have templeton rye, 1776 James Pepper Rye, Willet Rye, Bulliet Rye ( a bit more botanical in my opinion). _________________ The Laga 16.
