Hi
I have a bottle from Burkes of Dublin 1884 left to me by the late scuba diver Tommy Cecil of Rathlin Island Co Antrim NI.
It was recovered from the wreck of the SS Girvan in 1990 and is in good condition, the bottle has been recorked though.
Iam intersted in a value, photo available.
This is a real hard one to judge, i have saw Burkes whiskey fetch between £200 - £300 at auction in the past but your bottle has been opened and recorked, i dont know what that does to the value but i wouldnt think it would have a very good effect. On the other hand your bottle has a bit of history/interesting story behind it perhaps this could add to the value.
I would suggest contacting one of the big auction houses which deal in rare and collectable whisky such as McTears or sometimes Christies has a specialist whisky/spirits auction.
