To me the Laphroaig 10 year and Laphroaig Quarter Cask are better than the Laphroaig 15 year old.

I would agree with you on this Bill the 10 and Quarter Cask are a better dram than the 15 year old.

Strange how tastes differ huh..

I was really dissapointed with the Glenmorangie 18 after the 12 and even 10 (the portwood is my favourite).

but the Lophroaig 15 is much smoother and less sour than the 10 on my taste buds!

Happy Drammin'

IMO these whiskies are better than their older relatives:
Caol Ila 12 Year Old is better than the Caol Ila 18 Year Old
Laphroaig 10 Year Old is better than the Laphroaig 15 Year Old
Ardbeg 10 Year Old is better than the Ardbeg 17 Year Old
Highland Park 18 Year Old is better than the Highland Park 25 Year Old
Pulteney 12 Year Old is better than the Pulteney 17 Year Old
Glenlivet 12 Year Old is better than the Glenlivet 18 Year Old

Agreed on the Laphroig 10 vs 15 and Glenlivet 12 vs the 18 (although the 15 year old French oak expression is rather excellent). I would previously have added Aberlour 10 to the list of whiskies that are better than their older relatives but the 16 just pips it (as I mentioned in another post)
