Marks & Spencer selling 21yr old malt whisky, £70, no details on packaging other than M&S. Anyone know more, source etc? Anyone tried it?

I noticed it on the shelf in my local M&S, other than what it says on the box - Speyside single malt matured in American oak barrels bottled at 40% I haven't heard it mentioned on here or anywhere else.

Actually that's a lot more information than for this year's Christmas Glen Marnoch!

I had spotted this also, would have been more tempting with a higher ABV but would be interested to hear thoughts on it if anyone has tasted it.

Likewise, I spotted it yesterday but there's little information to go on?

It's pretty typical though, isn't it? At least we know it's a Speyside matured in American oak - Aldi gave us no information at all on the Glen Marnoch besides the fact that it's 29 years old, and they have no problems selling it.

If I were to hazard a guess without tasting it, I have always suspected that Ian MacLeod supply M&S with there own label whisky so I would hazard a guess at Tamdhu.

Disclamer: If you buy a bottle and it turns out to be The Macallan don't blame me Laughing

Who will be first to dip? The undisputed thing about M&S is ; all items are a proven qaulity. If i had not over purchased for this month i would have taken a blind dip.

Won't be me! if I was going to spend £70.00 on a bottle of whisky I'd want to know it's pedigree. Shocked

Now priced at £60.00 - "reduced to clear".
Odd, it's only been on shelves for a couple of weeks, and not "promoted" at all.

These are dust-gathering in my local store, despite the £10 discount. Not surprised, as £60 a bit too much for a mystery gamble.

Hi

I picked up a couple of bottles of Marks & Spencer 21 Year Old Speyside the other day. I wondered if anybody has tried it & which distillery it comes from? Amazingly M & S didn't know & there is a dearth of information about it on the internet!
(It had been mis-priced at £24 instead of £60!).

Thanks.
