Here are some whisky bargains i found while travelling between Northern Ireland and Scotland.

Travelling from Belfast to Stranraer on the Stena ferry you will find they have a Highland Park 16 year old 1 litre bottle for only £32.99. (First time i have ever had this, a very nice dram.)

Travelling between Larne and Troon on the P & O ferry you will find some good bargains on the Morrison Bowmore range. They have 1 litre Bowmore Enigma £22.49, 1 litre Bowmore Surf £17.50, 1 Litre Auchentoshan Select £17.50, 1 litre Glen Garioch £17.50

The Highland Park 16 is not very well known as it is exclusively for global travel retail
and duty free markets and was first released in October 2005. It only comes in the 1 litre bottle size as far as i know.

It is produced using a combination of first fill sherry casks, re-fill sherry oak casks and bourbon casks.

It has a spicy bouquet of sherried smoke and aromatic peat, a full rich flavour with tones of heather honey. The finish is rich, long medium sweet then medium dry with a touch of smoke. Delicious.

I will be picking up another bottle this weekend to stick in my cabinet.
