Can I get an opinion please on whether anyone would be likely to want to buy a bottle which though seal intact has lost some of it's contents to the bottom of the neck through my horizontal storage over 30 years? It was bottled and purchased in the 1980's.
How badly would the value be affected? or is it unsaleable. Thanks
If it spent 30 years on its side there is a very good chance the cork will perish when it is removed due to the strength of alcohol and it may have affected the taste of the whisky, but given it is a 1940 Glenlivet it is very rare having been distilled during world war 2. I wouldnt like to hazard a guess on its value and misguide you but i am sure someone would take a chance on it. You should speak to the online whisky auction websites, I am sure they will be able to advise you.
