Diageo
Reserve’s search for the World Class GB
bartender of the year kicks off with
nationwide roadshow.

Calling all bartender's, the search for the World Bartender of
the Year 2017 is set to get underway as the worlds
most prestigious bartending competition
returns for the ninth year.
The 2017 World Class competition will
launch with its first ever educational
tour of Britain, kicking off on Monday
14th November in Manchester.
Bartenders in Manchester, Leeds,
Liverpool, Glasgow, Edinburgh,
Birmingham, Bristol, Bournemouth and
London are invited to join one of ten
sessions, each with 50 spaces, in order
to prepare them for this year’s
competition. Hosted by the Diageo
Reserve Brand Ambassador team, the
roadshow has been designed to focus on
what it takes to become a World Class
bartender, with three unique training
sessions centred on The Art of Blending,
Remarkable by Design and the company’s
2016 Future Trends Report.
The 2017 competition is open from today
and will close on 15th February 2017,
before the judges review entries and
commence the in-bar judging phase, from
which the semi-finalists are selected.
With the opportunity to represent Great
Britain at the global final in Mexico
next year, the Diageo Reserve World
Class roadshow has been developed to
inspire entries, whilst giving
bartenders the tools they need to excel.
Dan Dove, Head of Diageo Reserve World
Class commented: "Bartenders are at the
heart of Diageo Reserve World Class, so
taking the time to educate and support
them ahead of the competition is
crucial. This year’s Diageo Reserve
Future Trends Report will be central to
our training sessions, learning and
predicting the evolving ways in which
consumers are interacting with cocktails
and drinking experiences."
