Whisky Focus - The Whisky Show 2010 The Brewery London

The Whisky Show 2010 The Brewery London

25th June 2009

The Ultimate Tasting Experience
The Whisky Show is a luxury whisky event that showcases the finest examples of the distiller’s art to city professionals and fine whisky consumers alike. After the roaring success of the inaugural Show in November 2009, and the subsequent clamour from both Visitors and Exhibitors, the organisers are delighted to be putting on The Whisky Show again. This year’s event will be held at The Brewery in London on 29th-30th October 2010.

Once again the show will be focusing on premium bottlings above each brand’s standard expression (longer-aged whisky, new releases and special bottlings), The Whisky Show offers a fantastic opportunity to the knowledgeable connoisseur and potential investor, as well as the passionate whisky fan wanting to learn more.

The Whisky Show helps whisky fans to develop an understanding and appreciation of this complex spirit – particularly useful for the enthusiastic amateur. Exhibitors fully understand that many visitors to the show are not aficionados and present their brands accordingly.

As well as the best whiskies, The Whisky Show is also about relaxation, fun and enjoyment, with generous portions of luxury whisky-themed food in the Whisky Diner provided by acclaimed chefs Graham Harvey and Sheila McConachie, authors of The Whisky Kitchen and there will also be two bars serving delicious whisky cocktails. The aim of the Show is to create a superb atmosphere – a world away from the stressed, workaday nature of many other whisky festivals.

Visitors to The Whisky Show will also be able to experiment with a range of delicious food-pairing suggestions, with the new addition this year of a dedicated Whisky and Food-Matching room at the event, which they hope to run in conjunction with a famous London food hall.

The Show will also feature some sensational Masterclass tastings, run by some of the most famous names in the industry. Each Masterclass will feature a tasting flight including some truly spectacular whiskies well above the standard fare offered at other whisky shows. Masterclass tickets are sold separately and will be available closer to the event.

Confirmed exhibitors at The Whisky Show 2010 include Bowmore, Glenlivet, Aberlour, Macallan, Highland Park, Laphroaig and Suntory. Details of more exhibitors will be added periodically to The Whisky Show Website.

Standard tickets for The Whisky Show are priced at £95 and include:

  • Entry to the event and a free tasting glass.
  • Free samples of any exhibited whisky – there is no voucher system at The Whisky Show.
  • A hearty two-course meal at The Whisky Diner.
  • Access to the Whisky and Food-Matching room and free samples of the featured pairings.

Ultra-Premium Dram

The Whisky Show offers a Free Ultra-Premium Dram for all visitors to the show!!

The Whisky Show is all about luxury whiskies, so as well as the highlights of their core ranges, the exhibitors will be offering you the chance to try some very special drams. Some whiskies are particularly rare, often coming from just one cask and limited to just a few hundred bottles. Fortunately for visitors to the show, The Whisky Show have agreed with many of the exhibitors to present something particularly memorable on each stand.

Each ticket paying visitor will be given a token entitling them to an Ultra Premium Drams: a selection of some of the finest (and most expensive) whiskies on the planet.

Your token is valid for one Dram from the collection. Stocks of each whisky are understandably limited, so you’ll need to show up early and make a beeline to the stands if you want to be sure of getting your first choice! This is a chance to taste a truly out-of-this-world whisky and a full list will be produced prior to the show.

A selection of the extraordinary Ultra Premiums Drams served at last year’s show:

  • Dalmore 40 year old

  • Glenfarclas 50 year old TWE Exclusive

  • Glenglassaugh 40 year old

  • Glengoyne 40 year old

  • Hankey Bannister 40 year old

  • Hibiki 30 year old

  • Highland Park 40 year old

  • Springbank 40 year old Chieftain’s Choice

  • Whyte & Mackay 40 year old

There is really too much going on at the show to cover here, there is an unbelievable line-up of whiskies, some fantastic Masterclasses and so much more. This show is not to be missed.

Following the success of last years show we would advise you not to leave it to late before purchasing tickets.
