Whisky Bible
2020 World Whisky Award Winners.
Whether
you agree with them or not the Whisky
Bible is undoubtedly the most comprehensive
collection of whisky reviews available
to whisky enthusiasts looking for a
suggestion as to what would be a good
dram to have in their glass and with the
ever increasing price of all styles of
premium whiskies many whisky drinkers
find independent reviews invaluable.
Although the Whisky Bible 2020 lists
over 4,700 whiskies, it will still perhaps come as no surprise by now
to many of you to hear that Jim Murray
has once again named an American Bourbon
whiskey as his headline grabbing 'World
Whisky Of The Year' in the
latest edition of his
Whisky Bible in fact this year
there are no Scotch whiskies in Jim's
top 3 whiskies.
The just launched Whisky Bible 2020 has
named the lesser known '1792 Full Proof
Kentucky Straight Bourbon' as Jim's
'World Whisky Of The Year'.
1792 is produced at the Barton 1792
distillery which is now part of the
Sazerac Company's portfolio and as you
know Sazerac owned/produced whiskey's
have long been a favourite of Jim
Murray's in his Whisky Bible.
Jim's runner up for 2020 is 'William
Larue Weller 125.7 Proof 2018 Release'
another Kentucky Straight Bourbon
Whiskey which is also part of the
Sazerac Company's portfolio.
Jim's third best whisky of 2020 is, you may have guessed by now also
part of the Sazerac Company's portfolio,
this time it is a rye whiskey - ''Thomas
H Handy Sazerac Rye 128.8 Proof 2018
Release'
For his Single Cask Whisky for 2020 Jim
has selected a very obscure almost
impossible to get hold of single cask
whisky from Taiwan's state-run Nantou
distillery - the Nantou Distillery Omar
Bourbon Cask No. 11140804 is sure to
draw attention to the others offerings
available from this distillery.
It was only recently that the esteemed
Whisky Bible announced the appointment
of Midpoint Trade Books, a division of
Independent Publishers Group as its new
North American distribution partner with
the aim of making the Whisky Bible more
easily available in the US & Canada and
of course increasing sales of the Whisky
Bible in this enormous marketplace.
With all this in mind I have no doubt
that the conspiracy theorists amongst
you will be working overtime but if you
look past the headline grabbing top 3
the Whisky Bible 2020 is sure to point
you in the direction of some stunning whiskies
(many of
which are still actually obtainable) which you may have otherwise overlooked.
The full list of
Whisky Bible 2020 Winners is below
and I am sure there will be more than a
few on the list which will be much
easier to get hold of and even more in
the book itself which don't quite get
the headline awards but are every bit as
good. To find out what else Jim thinks is good, his
Whisky Bible 2020 is now available to order from
Amazon with FREE delivery.
You will also find many of the Whisky
Bible 2020 award winning whiskies which are
still available to buy over at
specialist online whisky retailers such
as
The Whisky Exchange,
The Whisky Shop and
Master of Malt
