American
whiskey Colonel EH Taylor Four Grain named World Whisky Of The Year in Jim Murrays Whisky Bible 2018.
Jim
Murray has named an American Bourbon
whiskey, Colonel EH Taylor Four Grain,
as his World Whisky Of The Year in the
latest edition of his
Whisky Bible.
where he commented on the whiskey,
saying:
"Nothing could match the astonishing
beauty of its surprisingly delicate
weight and complexity combined, It was
though time stood still in the tasting
room; I just knew."
The Colonel EH Taylor Four Grain which
Jim scored 97.5/100 is a small batch
release from Buffalo Trace and at the
time of typing this there was none
available to be bought from any whisky
shop that I could find and you will be
very lucky to find some.
You will have more luck looking for this
years runner-up, picking up Jim's award
for the Second Finest World Whisky Of
The Year 2018 is the outstanding Irish
Single Pot Still
Redbreast 21 Year Old,
a must try for Irish pot still whiskey
drinkers, a deliciously juicy mature
Irish single pot still whiskey.
Jim's Third Finest World Whisky Of The
Year is a Scotch single malt whisky and
actually Jim's runner up last year,
the
Glen Grant 18 year old
which is one of three Scotch single malts added to the
now excellent Glen Grant whisky line up
last year, it is sure to once again draw
attention to the
Glen Grant whisky range of which my personal favourite is the
Glen Grant 12 Year Old Non Chill-Filtered travel retail exclusive but for your money they are all worth a try.
The list of Jim's
2018 category winners is below and
