release distillery exclusive single cask
bottling to mark 120th Anniversary.
 Tamdhu
distillery has announced the release of
a special distillery exclusive single cask bottling to mark
its 120th anniversary.
The deeply rich looking Tamdhu 120th
Anniversary Single Cask bottling was
selected by the 15-strong Tamdhu
distillery team. They choose Single Cask
No. 7389, a European oak first-fill
sherry butt.
To find the cask best suited to mark the
120th anniversary, nine possible casks
were selected with a range of ages and
cask types, including European and
American sherry oak, and blind-tasted by
the distillery team.
As you could well imagine, the
distillery team had a lot of fun nosing
and tasting the nine samples and voting
for their favourites. The final top
three were then selected for a blind
nosing and tasting and ranked by each of
the team members to agree on the winning
cask.
The cask they choose to mark the 120th
anniversary was distilled on 12th
December 2002, you will be pleased to
hear that its very deep dark colour is
natural and comes from the 15 years the
whisky spent maturing in the first-fill
sherry cask in Tamdhu's traditional
dunnage Warehouse Number Five. Non
chill-filtered and bottled at 59.3% ABV
this is a limited release of 603
bottles.

Producer's Tasting Notes:
Nose:
Toffee, apple, dates and raisins,
cinnamon notes with a hint of the
spiciness to come.
Taste:
Sweet and rich muscovado sugar, leading
into butterscotch with marmalade oranges
and fruity richness.
Finish:
Toffee, ripe bananas and light pepper,
smooth, deep and long lasting.
