Six finalist
named for the inaugural Talisker
cocktail competition.

Diageo Reserve’s Island Scotch single
malt whisky, Talisker, has revealed the
six bartenders through to the grand
final event of its Talisker cocktail
competition, Race To Skye, which will
take place in the brand’s homeland, the
Isle of Skye, in August.
Regional heats saw bartenders from
Edinburgh, Glasgow, Manchester,
Bournemouth, Bristol and London put
through their paces as Diageo Reserve
judges David Sinclair, Ali Reynolds and
Ervin Trykowski sought out creations
that reflected the elements of Talisker,
celebrating the brand’s new ‘Made By The
Sea’ platform.
The heats, which spanned two weeks at
events across the country saw the
following bartenders declared as the
inaugural Talisker cocktail competition
finalists:
- Rebecca Bevvy – The Laundrette
Group – Manchester
- Dave Ali – The Finneston –
Glasgow
- Andrew Lennie – The Printing
Press Bar & Kitchen – Edinburgh
- Daniel Bovey – Be at One –
Bristol
- Mike Pendergast – East London
Liquor Company – London
- Charles Roche – Scout – London
The Talisker ‘Race to Skye’ final
will take place at the Talisker
distillery in the Isle of Skye in
August. The champion will be awarded
the title of Talisker Ambassador*
and will support in telling the
brand’s story and communicating the
Made by the Sea campaign. The
winning bartender will also enjoy an
enhanced PR campaign to help raise
their profile in the drinks
industry.
