Join in the
Scotch Malt Whisky Society live virtual
tasting of five specially selected
drams.
As
part of their ongoing 35th Anniversary
celebrations, The Scotch Malt Whisky
Society will be bringing their spiritual
home in Edinburgh, The Vaults, to
members across the world through a
unique virtual tasting.
The tasting will be streamed live this
coming Monday 24th September on the SMWS
Facebook page www.facebook.com/thesmwsuk
at 7pm (UK time), with society members
invited to join in the tasting of five
special drams from across the Society’s
flavour spectrum.
Over its 35 years history The SMWS has
always had a policy of not revealing the
origin of the whisky in the bottle, and
that policy continues to this day as
they never name the distillery of origin
on the label but give each distillery a
code number and allow members to try
guess from the descriptions. To take a
bit of the mystery out of the five
special drams that have been selected
for the special live 35th Anniversary
tasting I have named the distilleries
which they originated from so do not
read on if you don't want to know where
they originated from:

There is the opportunity for you to
experience this historic moment first
hand, by attending the tasting live at
The Vaults in Edinburgh. The £40 price
of the event ticket includes the
five-dram Discovery Pack.
The tasting will also be streamed
simultaneously to the Society’s Queen
Street and Greville Street Member’s
Rooms in Edinburgh and London
respectively, giving people the
opportunity to enjoy this historic
experience in the company of fellow
members. Again tickets for the tasting
event at these venues are £40.
Of course you can follow the tasting
live on the SMWS Facebook page but if
you want to join in and experience the
five drams yourself from home you can
sign up for membership of the SMWS, but
don't hang around as the tasting is on
the 24th September.
