Douglas Laing
release Scallywag Cask Strength No.2
Limited Edition Speyside vatted malt.
Douglas Laing today unleashed a second cask strength limited edition of its Scallywag Speyside vatted malt which they originally launched back in 2013, this was followed by a limited release cask strength expression in June 2015. It appears that the cask strength version has been rather popular so the folks at Douglas Laing have announced the release of Scallywag Cask Strength Limited Edition No.2.
The 2nd Limited Edition release has been created using an impressive line up Speyside Single Malts, including those distilled at Mortlach, Macallan and Glenrothes Distilleries. A limited release of just 4800 bottles are available worldwide, a number that is proudly displayed on the product’s gift tube.
The striking, gold foiled packaging features a somewhat startled Scallywag, his ears perked and his monocle blasted off, having just experienced his first taste of the spicy, fruity, chocolatey dram.
Douglas Laing’s Managing Director (and proud owner of his own Fox Terrier, Cooper) Fred Laing comments:
"Recently awarded "Brand Innovators of the Year 2016" at the World Whiskies Awards, we at Douglas Laing & Co continually strive to be leaders of the pack in creative packaging and seek to fill an even greater spirit into the bottle. I believe this latest all-Speyside Cask Strength canine creation doggedly embodies that philosophy by combining a very fun pack with a seriously good quality Whisky, not to be sniffed at. The vatting created for Scallywag Cask Strength #2 combines some really fructiferously-spiced Spanish Sherry Butts with specially selected vanilla driven bourbon hogsheads, and proves, though I may say so myself, that there’s life in the old dog yet!”
Douglas Laing's complete range including
