Raise a glass
and #PassTheDram this World Whisky Day
to a friend, family member or loved one
who you cannot meet up with at the
moment or indeed if you would like to
raise a toast and #PassTheDram as a
Thank You to front line workers such as
NHS workers and Care workers.
Scotch Malt Whisky is a premium drink
you can reach for during different
stages and events in your life, no
matter what it throws at you, you can
raise a glass in celebration,
commiseration, to praise, to say thank
you, to remember, the list goes on, or
you can simply pour yourself a wee dram
as a touch of affordable luxury as a
treat to yourself.
Normally we are able to raise a glass
and share a dram with friends, family
and loved ones, especially today "World
Whisky Day", but that isn't possible for
many of us this year amidst the Covid-19
pandemic which has most of the world
locked down at the moment but thanks to
a great initiative from the folks at
"The Malt Whisky Trail" in Speyside,
Scotland to unite the global whisky
community in the run up to
#WorldWhiskyDay, Saturday 16
May, but I thought why should it stop
there we can all raise a glass and pass
it on to friends, family and loved ones
via online social media channels using
#PassTheDram
The Malt Whisky Trail is a route of nine
whisky sites in Scotland’s Speyside
region including distilleries Benromach,
Glenfiddich, The Glenlivet, Strathisla,
Cardhu, Glen Moray, Glen Grant, historic
distillery, Dallas Dhu and the Speyside
Cooperage and like most of us they are
in lockdown to visitors at the moment
but they are looking ahead to brighter
days with this #PassTheDram initiative
in the run up to World Whisky Day.
From Uruguay to the Outer Hebrides and
India to Canada, whisky lovers have
joined the craftsmen and women behind
The Malt Whisky Trail’s sites including
some well known whisky experts to enjoy
their favourite single malts, before
‘passing’ their dram to create a virtual
Malt Whisky Dram Trail in the video
above but the trail doesn't have to end
there.
So if you would like to toast and
#PassTheDram to, a friend,
family member or loved one who you
cannot meet up with at the moment or
indeed if you would like to raise a
toast and #PassTheDram as a Thank You to
front line workers such as NHS workers
and Care workers, whoever it is, pour
yourself a dram, whether it is Scotch,
Irish, American, Canadian or even if it
is another spirit, glass of wine or even
a can of Coca Cola or cup of tea it
doesn't matter just raise your glass and
#PassTheDram
