 Old Pulteney has launched a
limited-edition variant of Old Pulteney
Scotch whisky exclusively in UK travel
retailer shops.
Old Pulteney WK209 Good Hope single malt
Scotch whisky will be launched in UK
travel retail as World of Whiskies ‘Malt
of the Month’ for sale from today 8th
March 2011 at Ł34.99 per bottle. Bottled
in 100cl at 46% ABV, it will be launched and sold
exclusively in selected European travel
retail outlets.
This exclusive release of 9600 bottles is
from casks selected by Stuart Harvey,
Master Blender at Inver House Distillers
Ltd. Matured entirely in ex American and
ex Spanish sherry casks, Old Pulteney
WK209 will succeed the popular
Old
Pulteney WK499 Isabella Fortuna.
This exclusive new
expression is named after the first
steam herring drifter boat in Wick
Harbour to use echo sounder, the Good
Hope, registered as WK209. Wick is home
to the Pulteney distillery, the most
northerly distillery on the UK mainland
and was the largest fishing port in
Europe in the 19th century.

Producer's Tasting Notes:
Dark copper in appearance, Old Pulteney
‘WK209’ is a smooth and spicy malt with
aromas of toffee, chocolate and traces
of hazelnut and vanilla. On the palate
the initial sweet hints of citrus
combined with overtones of raisins,
chocolate and warm spices lead to a full
bodied long lasting finish.
