Whisky Focus - Highland Park Voyage of the Raven Review

Highland Park Voyage of the Raven

24th October 2017
New Highland Park Voyage of the Raven paves the way for a new Highland Park travel retail range.

Highland Park Voyage of the RavenHighland Park has unveiled a new travel retail exclusive expression, Highland Park Voyage Of The Raven, which will be available in global travel retail from this month.

Highland Park tell me that the new expression marks the start of the transition between the current Warrior Series and a brand new Travel Retail exclusive range to be launched in Spring/Summer 2018, details of which are still to be revealed.

The new Highland Park Voyage of the Raven expression has been matured in a high proportion of first-fill Sherry seasoned oak casks, bottled at 41.3% ABV and is said to deliver flavours of nutmeg, cinnamon, ginger, black cherries and marzipan, overlaid with Highland Park's distinctive aromatic smokiness.

Jason Craig, Brand Director, Highland Park, commented on the whisky, saying: "This very special single malt is rich dark and spicy, featuring Highland Park’s signature aromatic smokiness produced by the distillery’s unique woodless peat, hand-cut from Hobbister Moor.

"With only a fixed volume produced, combined with an eye-catching bottle and carton and a very attractive price point, we are confident that Voyage of the Raven will prove to be a highly desirable expression for Highland Park collectors and whisky connoisseurs as well as an attractive gift for shoppers in travel retail."

Produced in fixed volumes, Voyage of the Raven is now available in travel retail at a RRP of €65/£56 for a 70cl bottle, it is anticipated that stocks will last 12-18 months.

If you have no plans to travel in the near future you will find the Highland Park core range as well as the current Warrior Series travel retail range available from specialist whisky shops such as Master of Malt
