Special edition bottle of Highland Park
to mark 30th anniversary of the
publication of Scottish author Ian
Rankin's first "Inspector Rebus" novel.
Back
in 2007 some of you may have been lucky
enough to get your hands on a bottle of
Highland Park Rebus 20 year old, a
special bottling of Highland Park
released to celebrate the 20th
anniversary of the publication of
Scottish author Ian Rankin's first
"Inspector Rebus" novel Knots and
Crosses.
At that time, Ian was invited
to visit the distillery on Orkney where
he chose a special single cask. The
whisky’s flavour profile was chosen
according to what Ian felt Rebus would
prefer – cask no 3272, was 'dark,
complex and with a long finish'. Today this
bottle now fetches in excess of £1,200 at
auction.
Another 10 years on and Highland Park
have once again teamed up with Ian
Rankin, they have just announced the
release of Highland Park Rebus 30 10
Year Old, a special edition of 10,000
bottles to mark the 30th anniversary of
the iconic Edinburgh detective John
Rebus, one of crime fiction’s best loved
creations.
The Highland Park Rebus 30 10 Year Old whisky was created by
Highland Park Master Whisky Maker,
Gordon Motion, who describes it as "natural colour,
mature citrus fruits and creamy vanilla
with a hint of peppery sauce". An
intensely balanced single malt fit for a
detective who truly stands apart.
I am pleased to tell you that the
special edition Highland Park Rebus 30
10 year old which is bottled at 40% ABV
will have a very palatable price tag of
£30 and it will be available to members
of Highland Parks Inner Circle, so if
you want a bottle you need to head over
to the Highland Park website and sign up
for free to join HP's Inner Circle and
register your interest in a bottle of
the new Highland Park Rebus 30 10 Year
Old.
Registration of interest for this bottle
is open now and the commemorative bottling
will be delivered in time for the launch
of RebusFest at the end of June 2017.
In addition for those who will be in
Edinburgh for the RebusFest, 30th June -
2nd July, Highland Park’s brand
ambassador Martin Markvardsen will be
hosting two whisky Master Classes on
Friday 30th June and Saturday 1st July
at the Waldorf Astoria Edinburgh – The
Caledonian. As well as learning all
about why Highland Park stands apart
from other single malts, guests will be
given a unique opportunity to taste
Highland Park Rebus30 along with some of
the brand’s other special whiskies.
The Highland Park Rebus 30 10 Year Old
will be available for delivery to
Highland Park Inner Circle members in
Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, the
Netherlands, Norway, Sweden,
Switzerland, South Africa and of course
the UK and the Channel Islands. However
you do not need to be a resident of
these countries to purchase, providing
you can give a shipping address within
one of them. UK shipping cost will be
£5.99. Regarding the number of bottles
you are able to purchase, Highland Park
tell me that there isn't currently a set
limit in place, however this will be
assessed once they have an idea of
demand.
Meanwhile you will find the current
Highland Park whisky range available from
specialist online whisky retailers such
as
Master of
