Bill Lumsden, the Glenmorangie Company’s

proud to see five of our whiskies
recognised with gold awards by such an
esteemed body – and the response from
whisky lovers around the world has been
equally rewarding. This has been one of
our most successful award years yet at
the ISC."
The 5 Glenmorangie International Spirits
Challenge 2017 Gold Medal Winners:
Glenmorangie Signet is non
chill-filtered and bottled at 46% ABV
A fusion of unique and rare elements,
and clouded in secrecy, Signet is the
culmination of a lifetime's experience.
A blend of Glenmorangie's oldest whisky - distilled
over thirty years ago when malting still
occurred on site – and spirit matured in
a selection of the world's finest casks,
this undoubtedly is the richest whisky
in their range. Glenmorangie describe it
as: On the nose there is
strong Aruba espresso fused with a
treacly plum pudding, rich with sherry,
and candied orange peel. The flavour is
a contrast of rich sweetness with an
explosive crackle of sizzling spices and
bitter mocha. The finish is fresh
spring-like breeze of mint with a bright
citrus lemony-green quality.
Glenmorangie 18 Years Old 43% ABV
Once it has spent fifteen years maturing
in American white oak casks,
approximately 30% is transferred into
Spanish Oloroso casks to spend a further
three years maturing. Then, when both
elements have reached 18 years,
Glenmorangie blend
them back together to create a whisky
with a rich bouquet and full, rounded
flavour. Glenmorangie describe its aroma
as rich, rounded and
sweet with dried fruits and a complex
floral fragrance. The taste is balanced
between honey, malt and flowery scents.
Dates and figs emerge in the background
with a hint of wood smoke. The finish is
long and enticing with the sweetness of
dried fruit and subtle dryness of
Oloroso nuttiness.
Glenmorangie Quinta Ruban is non
chill-filtered and bottled at 46% ABV
The darkest and most intense whisky in
the extra-matured range, Glenmorangie
Quinta Ruban is extra-matured in ruby
port pipes to create a voluptuous spirit
with a complex balance of sweet and dry
flavours. Glenmorangie describe it as
having a nose of dark mint
chocolate and tangerines, leading to
tastes of walnut, chocolate, Turkish
delight and Seville oranges, and a long,
silky finish.
Glenmorangie Duthac 43% ABV
A whisky fit for a King, this expression
honours the annual pilgrimage made by
King James IV to the shrine of St Duthac
in Tain, and is part of Glenmorangie
Legends – a collection of single malt
whiskies exclusive to Travel Retail,
inspired by the legendary lands that
have been home to the Glenmorangie
Distillery since 1843. Glenmorangie say
it has seductive aromas
of pear, toffee apple, Brazil nuts in
toffee, with an underlying spicy note,
some toasty oak. The spiciness is
definite, but gentle, with hints of
ginger and clove. The aftertaste shows
vanilla, apricots in cream and some
almond marzipan.
Glenmorangie Tarlogan 43% ABV
The Tarlogie Spring has served as the
sole water source for our distillery
since 1843. Its unique, mineral-rich
waters allow us to create our unusually
fragrant house style. Aged in virgin oak
as well as ex-bourbon casks,
Glenmorangie say Tarlogan has sweet, earthy
aromas of creamy butterscotch, classic
Glenmorangie vanilla and coconut, malt
biscuits too. The texture is soft and
silky and brings with it dessert-like
flavours, especially vanilla custard and
pears. There are delicious notes of
pineapple and gentle citrus. The finish
displays a suggestion of exquisite
ginger followed by waves of long,
lingering white chocolate and almond
marzipan. A Travel Retail exclusive
product.
