A new range
of Glengoyne Highland Single Malt Scotch
Whisky has been unveiled by Ian Macleod
Distillers.

It is almost 10 years since the
independent Scottish family owned
company Ian
Macleod Distillers acquired the
Glengoyne Distillery and in that time
they have treated us single malt whisky
drinkers to a number of new expressions
and limited releases with great success,
in fact increasing their sales volumes
by 250%. Which is a good indication of
the quality of whisky they are producing
at Glengoyne.
It seems though that the team at
Glengoyne don't like to sit back and
savour in the success they have had to
date, they have been hard at work over
the past 18 months creating a new range
of Glengoyne Single Malt Scotch Whisky
for us to enjoy.
They have now unveiled the new look Glengoyne range
which includes a
number of new whiskies as well as some
old favourites that you already know.
The existing Glengoyne 10 year old, 12
year old and 21 year old will be joined
by three new malts - a new Glengoyne 15
year old, a new no age statement cask
strength expression which replaces the
current 12 year old cask strength and a Glengoyne 18
year old which is an upgrade the
current very popular 17 year old.
For the travellers amongst you, the Glengoyne travel retail exclusives Burnfoot
and Glengoyne 15
year old Distiller’s Gold will still be
available alongside the 10 year old, new
Cask strength, 18 year old and 21 year old.
The
new range also has a new look which has
been created by top Glasgow-based UK
design consultancy, Good Creative. In
the design of the new packaging Good
Creative have focused on the
brand’s strengths and unique history
with a strapline ‘Worth the Wait’
reinforcing the link between handcrafted
expertise, taste and Glengoyne's unique
slow distillation process. The bottle
label and cartons also highlight the
distillery’s heritage and original
Gaelic name ‘Glen Guin’ (Glen of the
Wild Geese) with a hand-drawn brand
crest depicting two wild geese.
The new packaging features crisp
contrasts, bold type and an emphasis on
letting the whisky speak its own truth.
It is all part of a set of principles
and traditions, which is “The Glengoyne
Way”.
All whiskies in the new core range are
bottled with no added colouring and the
new Glengoyne Cask Strength is
non-chill-filtered.
The new range should be on UK shelves
before the end of this month and will be
rolled out globally in both domestic and
travel retail within the next six months but meanwhile see the links
below for the details and tasting notes
for each the new look Glengoyne range.
