Glengoyne 30 Year Old 2018 Edition

21st February 2019
Glengoyne 30 year old returns with a batch of 5,200 bottles in the second release of the mature sherried dram.

Glengoyne 30 Year Old 2018 EditionGlengoyne distillery has announced the release of a second edition of the Glengoyne 30 Year Old.

The new Glengoyne 30 Year Old 2018 Edition (as it was bottled at the end of last year) follows on from the first release back in 2017 but this time around there are only 5,200 of the 30 Year Old available in this new release which is 800 bottles less than the first release.

Once again the Glengoyne 30 Year Old has been produced using a combination of first fill and refill sherry butts, 12 sherry casks in total, 33% first fill European oak sherry butts and 66% specially selected refill sherry butts.

Bottled at 46.8% ABV, non chill-filtered  and naturally coloured it is described as having a rich, complex flavour profile, with notes of cinnamon, cloves and tangy marmalade, this will no doubt appeal to the sherried whisky fans amongst you but as you can imagine you will need deep pockets to get a hold of a bottle which has a price tag of 700 for a 70cl bottle.

As you would expect with an original distillery bottling of this age it is presented in premium packaging, a solid oak box, featuring an oak and rose gold bung and a hessian square, the outer casing reflects the traditional cask sampling method employed by Glengoyne Distillery.

The new Glengoyne 30 Year Old 2018 Edition will be available from specialist online whisky retailers such The Whisky Exchange and Master of Malt
