launches limited edition Glenfiddich
Cask of Dreams Nordic Oak.

Grant has announced the
launch of the Glenfiddich Cask of Dreams
Nordic Oak Edition,
a limited edition expression which has
been finished in Nordic Oak.
Like the earlier Cask of Dreams editions
such as the Canadian and US editions
Glenfiddich ran a "Cask of Dreams" tour.
During
Autumn 2012, Glenfiddich visited over
100 cities throughout Sweden,
Norway, Denmark and Finland with 13 unique Nordic oak casks. At selected locations,
visitors could write their dreams
directly on the cask. At the end of the
tour the casks were sent to the
Glenfiddich distillery in Scotland to be
used to finish a special limited edition
expression of Glenfiddich.
Of these dreams,
elected representatives from Glenfiddich
picked out a winner and fulfilled their
life time dream which was to attend the Isle of
Man TT races.
This new expression was recently launched in
conjunction with Viking Line onboard its
famous ‘whisky fest’ vessel the
Cinderella, along with an exclusive
tasting by David Francis – Glenfiddich
Brand Ambassador.
The launch and tasting, which took place
at the Glenfiddich Bar onboard the ship,
was attended by many of Sweden’s Whisky
connoisseurs and formed part of Viking
Line’s ongoing Whisky Fest.
The use of the Nordic oak casks to
finish this special limited edition
expression was quite a bold decision by
Glenfiddich as they couldn't be 100%
sure of how the Nordic oak would
influence the whisky as this is the
first time a Scotch whisky has ever been
matured in Oak casks made in the Nordic
and from Oak grown in the Nordic but I
suppose you can say this falls inline
with Glenfiddich's pioneering spirit.
So how did this unique Nordic Cask
finish turn out? The Glenfiddich Malt Master Brian
Kinsman had this to say: "Maturing over
a winter in the Nordic Oak casks has
brought exciting flavours to the liquid.
The flavour is rich and sweet with a
vanilla and oak character, you may even
feel a taste of cedar trees."
It will come as no surprise to hear that
this latest limited edition is already
being sourced by collectors all over the
world; bottled at 48.8% ABV, there are a total of 3,600 100cl
bottles in the world and the Viking Line
will carry 1008.
Glenfiddich Cask of Dreams will be
available exclusively on the Viking Line
for travel retail and the rest of the
bottles will be launched in the various
Nordic (Sweden, Norway, Denmark and
Finland) domestic markets. The recommended consumer price of this
limited release will be €110.
