Whisky
history in the making as Glenfiddich
hands over precious 50 year old liquid.
Premium
single malt Scotch Whisky Glenfiddich
has handed three top end whisky outlets
the much celebrated Glenfiddich 50 Year
old – one of the rarest and most
precious expressions of authentic single
malt whisky ever released by Scotland’s
most distinguished distillery.
With only three bottles made available
in the UK, Ian Murray of First Drinks
placed each one into very safe hands,
belonging to Harrods, The Whisky
Exchange and The Vintage House.
At £10,000 a bottle, this pioneering
whisky from leading independent drinks
company, First Drinks, comes decorated
in Scottish silver, crafted by Thomas
Fattorini, a sixth generation
silversmith, and imprinted with William
Grant & Son’s own hallmark.
Harrods has chosen to auction off its
bottle, with 20% of the eventual selling
price being donated to the Evelina
Children’s Hospital.

Glenfiddich 50 Year Old Tasting Notes
|
Glenfiddich 50 year old is imbued with a
unique preciousness that only time can
bring, and remains remarkably light and
elegant on the palate.
Nose:
Beautifully harmonious with an
uplifting, vibrant and complex aroma.
Taste:
Initially sweet with a zesty orange
marmalade and vanilla toffee, which then
cascades through a wonderful series of
layers: aromatic herbs, floral and soft
fruits, silky oak tannin and hints of
gentle smoke.
Finish:
The finish is exceptionally long with a
touch of dry oak and the merest trace of
peat. |
