Glenfarclas
release a unique 31 year old Port Cask
matured expression.
In a departure from their typical
heavily sherried style that you will all
be familiar with, Glenfarclas have
released a single cask limited edition
whisky which has been 100% matured for 31
years in a Port Cask. This unique Port
Cask matured Glenfarclas was distilled
and laid down in 1981 and bottled in
July 2012 at 42.8% ABV. The cask yielded
only 480 bottles which will be made
available exclusively to the UK and
French markets.
George Grant, 6th generation of the
owning family, and the company’s
Director of Sales explained; "The
traditional Glenfarclas style is
achieved using predominantly first and
second fill sherry casks for maturation.
While we never do any kind of wood
finish, we do have some casks in our
warehouses which don’t quite fit in with
our typical house style but have their
own distinctive character. Some though,
like this exceptional Port Cask, are
just too good to pass by ! "
Following on from the success of the 43
year old Cognac Cask Glenfarclas,
released last year, the 31 year old Port
Cask is sure to intrigue and delight
enthusiasts and fans seeking a different
personality to their favourite malt.
The recommended retail price of
Glenfarclas 31 year old Port Cask is
£280 a bottle.

Colour:
Old gold in colour with reddish hints.
