Review of the
new GlenDronach Master Vintage 1993.
 It
is known from past releases that the
GlenDronach distillery has turned out
some outstanding whiskies which had been
laid down to mature back in 1993 so I am
sure those of you who were lucky enough
to sample any of these previous releases
will be interested to know that the
distillery has just released The
GlenDronach Master Vintage 1993 25 Year
Old.
Matured in a combination of Pedro
Ximénez and Oloroso sherry casks which
have been hand picked and brought
together by The GlenDronach Master
Blender, Dr Rachel Barrie, to create
this 25 year old Vintage 1993
expression.
Master Blender, Dr Rachel Barrie
commented: "With a quarter of a century
slowly maturing in our renowned
Andalucían casks, The GlenDronach Master
Vintage 1993 Aged 25 Years has developed
profound layers of depth and complexity,
leading to an exceedingly long,
voluptuous and memorable finish."
Bottled at 48.2% ABV, non chill-filtered
and naturally coloured, The
GlenDronach Master Vintage 1993 25 Year
Old has a Retail Recommend Price of £250
and will be
available from
this month from specialist online whisky retailers such as The Whisky Exchange

Master of Malt

Morrison's Tasting Notes:
Nose:
A lovely rich enticing nose of toffee
infused with sweet rum and raisin, a
little orange and almond and a very
delicate smokiness lurking in the
background.
Taste:
Deliciously rich, burnt rum infused
raisins, treacle toffee with a fine
coating of dark chocolate orange, just a
little vanilla giving a nod to its age, some
lovely oak spice and
ginger
hanging around in the background.
Finish:
The treacle toffee becomes more coffee'd
before fading, the delicious rum infused
raisins hangs in there for an age before
leaving you with some mildly drying very
gentle oak spice.
Comment:
Delicious, a fantastic nose and
delicious in the mouth, a faultless
GlenDronach and a sherried pleasure from start to finish.
