Review of "The Feather's Pub & Single Malt Bar" Toronto Canada by Murray Cohen, International Order of the Companions of the Quaich and Scotch Malt Whisky Forum Member.

I had the opportunity on August 30th, 2016 to make the journey to a favorite pub of mine in the Toronto area, the Feather’s Pub in the Beaches area of the city with a friend of mine who has become my "young apprentice" (he’s 55) in the whisky world.
The Feather’s Pub has been around for 35 years and the current owner has had it for about five years. The décor is comfortable with many regulars there in the afternoon though I expect most of the action is at night when there is also entertainment.
They offer typical pub grub on the menu as well as other choices, even gluten-free and the food is well-prepared and very good. Our server this day, Stephanie was a very gracious host and suggested a plate of crackers, cheese and strawberries as palate cleansers during our flight tasting. She was also kind enough to leave the 5 bottles on our table so I could peruse all details on the labels. Time stands still at The Feather’s Pub where you imbibe both the spirit literally and figuratively as well as the wonderful atmosphere. There is a friendliness and familiarity which is quite welcoming to patrons.
The pub has at least 500 single malts available. The serving size is the standard 1oz. except for the The "Flight" and "Tour" tasting menus served at ˝oz as well as various Whisky Challenge and Tasting events that are held throughout the fall and winter. The whiskies are served in Copita glasses and they currently have 5 flight and tasting menus: Silent Still flight, Island flight, Highland flight, Speyside flight and Benromach Distillery tour. Of course, you can order any of the 500 or so single malts individually from their extensive single malt menu. They even sell Glencairn glasses at a reasonable price with their crest. I would highly recommend this as one of the best single malt pubs in Canada.
We each had the Highland flight of 5 whiskies, follow the links below to read my review and taste notes for these single malts.
