Richard
Paterson has completed his 50th
Anniversary world tour which saw the
rare Domaine Henri Giraud Champagne cask
finished Dalmore 50 year old sell out as
well as the sale of the unique £987,500
Dalmore Paterson Collection.

The Dalmore’s Master Distiller
Richard Paterson has completed the final
leg of his world tour celebrating 50
years in the whisky industry.
Over the past 6 months Richard has
hosted 50th Anniversary events around
the world in cities including Paris,
Singapore, London and Las Vegas, meeting
with whisky enthusiasts and industry
experts and no doubt enthralling them
with his unique style and personality as
well as his enthusiasm and knowledge of
the Scotch whisky he continues to create
after 50 years in the whisky industry.
Earlier in the year we saw The Dalmore
release a rare Domaine Henri Giraud
Champagne cask finished Dalmore 50 year
old to mark Richard Paterson's half
century crafting whisky, the rare 50
year old was showcased at the 50th
Anniversary events and all fifty bottles
of the £50,000 Domaine Henri Giraud
champagne finished 50 year old single
malt, which were prepared to order, have
now sold out.

Rather appropriately, Richards 50th
anniversary year also saw the sale of
The Dalmore Paterson Collection which
was launched in 2013, it is a truly
unique collection of just 12 rare
whiskies costing a cool £987,500. The
one-of-a-kind collection which Richard
created to honour those who have shaped,
influenced and inspired his whisky
career were purchased earlier this year
for £987,500 by a young Chinese
collector. The collection encompasses
some of The Dalmore Distillery’s oldest
and rarest whiskies. Personally I like
to imagine that the unique 12 bottle
collection is being enjoyed by the buyer
and not sitting on a shelf.
Richard Paterson, Master Distiller at
The Dalmore commented: "It has been
absolute privilege for me to travel the
world these past six months celebrating
my milestone with friends and colleagues
from the wider whisky industry who have
helped shape my career to date.
"To share with them a whisky which
defines my working career, has been an
extremely rewarding experience.
Showcasing the champagne-finished The
Dalmore 50 at each of these events has
been a fitting way to mark these
celebrations while showcasing our
ability to innovate in both maturation
and cask curation."
"With all 50 bottles now sold and the
sale of The Paterson Collection, which
is truly a distillation of my life in
the industry, this has drawn a perfect
close to what has been a truly
exceptional year in my life."
Although you wont find Richard's special
50th anniversary bottling of The Dalmore
50 or The Paterson Collection in shops
now you will still find the current
Dalmore core range as well as some
special limited edition releases
such as the recently released The
Dalmore Quintessence (although it now
has very limited availability) available from
specialist whisky shops such as
Master of
Malt
and
The Whisky Exchange
