Whisky Focus - Bowmore 1981 Vintage Series Limited Edition

Bowmore, the first Islay Single Malt whisky, has launched two outstanding limited edition expressions - the Bowmore 40 Year Old and this rare Bowmore 1981 Single Malt which has been lovingly handcrafted for the discerning Single Malt lover. Priced at £270 a bottle, this whisky is a true collectable.

The Bowmore 1981 is the first in the Bowmore vintage series. This rare and limited release of only 402 bottles worldwide makes it a collectors’ must-have. Presented in a wooden gift box with a ‘weather-beaten’ brown leather strap and copper buckle, each bottle is also accompanied by a hand-signed and numbered certificate by the Bowmore Distillery Manager.

Matured in fine oak casks, non-chill-filtered and bottled at a cask strength of 49.6% ABV and limited to only 402 bottles this bottling won't be available for long so don't hang around if you want one.

Bowmore 1981 will be available at specialist whisky suppliers through October and November 2010.
