Whisky Focus - BenRiach Cask Strength Batch 1

BenRiach launch first batch of their new Cask Strength expression.

BenRiach has launched the first batch of its new no age statement cask strength expression, which will be known as (you may have already guessed) BenRiach Cask Strength Batch 1.

The BenRiach distillery fully expect their new Cask Strength release to be snapped up by whisky enthusiasts worldwide, in the same way that the critically-acclaimed GlenDronach Cask Strength batches have been. Like the GlenDronach, the BenRiach plans to regularly release new batches from its Elgin distillery.

The distillery tell me that the whisky chosen for Batch 1 has a classic BenRiach in style. They say you will be treated to a voluptuous sweet taste of honey, soft fruits and gentle spices – but at a cask strength of 57.2% ABV for this first batch, so it should pack a real punch!

Master Blender Billy Walker’s tasting notes show that the whisky chosen as the Batch 1 Cask Strength is absolutely outstanding.

The BenRiach Cask Strength Batch 1 will soon be available from specialist whisky retailers such as The Whisky Exchange
