Auchentoshan Valinch

15th July 2011

Auchentoshan Unveils The Valinch. The first of an annual small batch release.

"The closest you’ll come to drinking whisky straight from the cask without actually coming to the Distillery and drawing yourself a sample." said Morrison Bowmore Senior Blender, Jeremy Stephens

Auchentoshan Single Malt whisky has launched Valinch, an annual small batch release of the award winning Auchentoshan Classic expression bottled at cask strength and non-chill filtered. Following the initial launch, 2,000 cases was launched globally and will be released annually for Father’s Day.

Brought to market by popular demand from Single Malt evangelists and whisky specialists alike, Brand Manager Hannah Fisher commented on the new release: "For years we've been asked to create a non-chill filtered, cask strength edition of the acclaimed Classic expression so we’re delighted we can make this happen."

The only Single Malt to consistently triple distil every drop, Auchentoshan produces the highest new make spirit of any Scottish distillery, which results in ultra smooth whiskies. It’s this purity and strength that allows the liquid to take on maximum flavour from the wood and so, in the case of the Valinch, creates an ultra smooth whisky with a real robust character.

The packaging of this expression tells the story of the whisky, with the bottle reflecting a laboratory bottle complimented by the outer carton, which is stripped back to basics, exposing the idea of whisky straight from the cask. The name Valinch is taken from the word given to the pipette used to draw whisky straight from the cask, so an appropriate name for a whisky with all the depth of taste, flavour and texture associated with sampling whisky at source.

The Auchentoshan Valinch is aimed at whisky evangelists, collectors and Dads who like a dram. It was bottled at 57.5% ABV and has a RRP of £39.99 It is available from specialist whisky shops such as The Whisky Exchange
