Arran The Devil's
Punch Bowl III The Fiendish Finale, do you
dare to dram with the devil again!
 Today
Arran released the third and final
chapter of The Devil's Punch Bowl trilogy
of limited edition single malt whiskies.
The Arran The Devils Punch
Bowl III The
Fiendish Finale is the final instalment
in this popular trilogy which
started with Chapter One 'The Devil's
Punch Bowl' went on to Chapter Two
'Angels & Devils' and now concludes with
Chapter Three 'The Fiendish Finale'.
'The Fiendish Finale' is a
marriage of 21 casks hand picked by
Arran Master distiller James MacTaggart, including 8 Sherry
Butts, 8 French Oak Barriques and 5
Bourbon Barrels.
Arran tell
me that the result of this blend of 21
casks is a spirit that tastes of dark
chocolate and dried fruits, with a hint
of cinnamon, chocolate raisin and a rich
layer of spice and toasted oak to
finish.
Talking about his latest concoction,
James said: “The Devil’s Punch Bowl
malts are our most popular limited
edition whiskies ever – the first two
sold out in record time.
"Personally this is my favourite of the
trilogy and it is a fantastic expression
of the Arran Malt. The whisky is bottled
without chill filtration at natural
strength (53.4 ABV) and is unpeated
making it approachable and enabling lots
of flavours to be discovered."
The new bottling is a limited edition of
just 6,660 Devilish bottles and will be
available from specialist whisky shops
such as
The Whisky Exchange
from today. If this release is like
previous releases then there are usually 666 bottles
are available in the UK – so stocks are
limited and I expect it to sell-out
fast. Non chill-filtered and bottled at
54.3% ABV it has a UK RRP of £76.99
(US$130) per 70cl bottle.
