After a short
absence the popular Arran Amarone Cask
Finish is set to return.
 As
the fans of Arran single malt whisky
amongst you will be aware the Arran
Amarone Cask Finish is one of the 3 cask
finish expressions of The Arran Malt
that the Isle of Arran distillery
produces, the other two being Port and
Sauternes but the Amarone, arguably the
best of the 3 has always been the most
limited release of the 3.
The quality of the Arran Amarone Cask
Finish made it very popular and I am
pleased to tell you that Arran have
announced the forthcoming launch of its
latest bottling of the Arran Amarone
Cask Finish, it is a no age statement
expression which was initially matured
in oak casks before being
finished in a selection of Amarone wine
casks.
The Arran distillery source the casks for
these cask finish editions directly from
the wine producers themselves and
sometimes there can be a break in the
availability, particularly the
availability of the Amarone casks which
leads to the expression being
unavailable for a period due to its
popularity.
Some of you may recall last Christmas
when the distillery temporarily filled
the gap left by the Amarone finish with
a Madeira Cask Finish, as good as that
was I am sure more than a few of you
will be happy to see the Arran Amarone
Cask Finish return.
The Arran Amarone Cask Finish was bottled at 50% ABV and has a RRP
of £42.99 and will be available
