Whisky Focus - anCnoc 2000 Vintage Limited Release

anCnoc 2000 Vintage

3rd October 2014
anCnoc 2000, a Spanish oak ex-sherry butts and American oak ex-bourbon barrel matured limited edition.

To remind us that anCnoc hasn't gone completely down the Peaty road with their limited releases they have released the latest addition to their portfolio, the anCnoc 2000 Vintage.

The anCnoc 2000 Vintage is limited to 6,000 bottles and will be available in the UK, Sweden, Japan and Russia, to name but a few, from this month with a retail price of £55 per bottle.

Matured in Spanish oak ex-sherry butts and American oak ex-bourbon barrels and bottled just as it should be non chill-filtered and with no added artificial colouring, it has a bottling strength of 46% ABV.

Staying true to anCnoc style the packaging of the new limited release single malt mirrors the minimalist design of anCnoc’s core range and features the contemporary yet traditional illustration of the Knockdhu Distillery.

Earlier this year the Speyside distillery (although it likes to refer to itself as a Highland malt) launched the anCnoc Peaty collection, four expressions of varying peat strength giving whisky drinkers a wider choice of anCnoc styles and giving them a chance to find a dram to suit their palate and to ‘shine a light’ on the dark, enigmatic world of peat. The anCnoc 2000 Vintage is a more familiar style of anCnoc but with a sherry influence.

anCnoc Assistant Brand Manager, Stephanie Bridge commented: "The unique taste portfolio of the vintage 2000 is set to be a hit with malt enthusiasts everywhere. Releasing the next vintage in the anCnoc collection marks the end of a very exciting spring and summer for the brand. I’m confident that the exclusive expression will be a welcome addition to anyone’s malt collection."

anCnoc 2000 Vintage limited edition will be available from whisky specialist shops such as The Whisky Exchange RRP £55
