Jim Murray's
Whisky Bible 2015 winning whiskies.
As
you will all probably be aware, Jim
Murrays Whisky Bible 2015 is about to
hit the shelves. Widely considered by
many whisky drinkers as
the most comprehensive whisky guide
available, containing evaluations of all
types of whisky including Scotch single
malt, blends, vatted malts, single
grains, Irish, bourbon, rye, Japanese,
Canadian, Australian, European and many
others.
This latest Whisky Bible 2015 edition
has been further expanded with over 1000
new entries taking the total to over
4700 whiskies evaluated.
In this latest edition you will find, perhaps rather
controversially, there are no Scotch
whiskies in Jim’s top five whiskies this year,
which is the first time this has
happened since the Whisky Bible was
first published back in 2004.
Taking the top spot this year is the sold
out limited release Japanese single
malt, The Yamazaki Single Malt Sherry Cask 2013. Bottled
in 2013 and released for sale in the UK
in January 2014 the whisky sold out the
day it was released due to the good
reputation of earlier sherry cask
bottlings from Yamazaki. So if you want
to taste Jim Murray's Whisky Bible 2015
World Whisky of the Year to see if you
agree with his evaluation you are
probably too late unless you have deep
pockets to pick up what I am sure will
not now be a cheap bottling in the
secondary market. If you have a unopened
bottle, it has probably just shot up in
value.
Taking 2nd and 3rd place in Jim's top
five whiskies are two old favourite
American whiskies of Jim's, whiskies
from Buffalo Trace Antique Collection,
William Larue Weller 2013 Kentucky
Straight Bourbon Whiskey and Sazerac Rye
18 year old 2013.

2015 is now available order from
