Whisky Focus - Win A Grants Signature Weekend

Win A Grants Signature Weekend

1st May 2015

Grants are giving you the chance to win a Signature weekend.

I thought I would give the Grant's Signature blended whisky a mention as from this month Grants are running a great promotion giving you the chance to win your ultimate weekend.

Look out for promotional packs in Tesco stores from today and if you haven't tried the whisky, which is very good by the way, you may be lucky and come across some sampling which will be taking place in some stores.

There are some great prizes up for grabs including driving the Monaco Grand Prix circuit, horse trekking in Morocco and white river rafting in Bosnia. In addition, hundreds of premium leather weekend bags will be given away as runner up prizes.

You may have noticed Grant's pushing the new whisky lately via advertising on Sky Sports, well in my opinion they have good reason to as it is a very easy to drink blended whisky which is full of lovely malty character and absolutely no sign of heavy handed colouring which can be the curse of blends, just a skilfully constructed blend of malt and grain whisky.

It is a quality rich and malty blended whisky which should appeal to both new and old, blended and malt whisky drinkers and it wont bust the bank buying a bottle. It really is a great easy to drink everyday dramming whisky and a good choice of dram now the hotter weather is approaching, at least I hope it is, but you can never be sure in Scotland.

Look out for it in Tesco stores this month, priced £18.50, and you never know you may win yourself a nice prize.

Grant's Signature Tasting Notes

William Morrison's Tasting Notes:

Colour:  Deep gold.

Nose:  Vanilla, and a light candied fruitiness

Taste: Lovely sharp malty notes dance around the mouth. Mild creamy vanilla sponge cake, a bit of honey and a mild candied sweetness. A bit of caramel and spice in the background.

Finish: Mildly drying oak, honey with some vanilla and spice contributing to the fun.

Comment: Another outstanding high quality blend from Grant's that wont bust the bank, I really enjoyed this. A lovely easy to drink blend which wouldn't be out of place in a blended or single malt whisky drinkers cabinet due to it malty character. You could say Grants have discovered a missing link between blended and single malt Scotch. For the price I highly recommend this one.

SMW Scotch Blended Whisky Score 93/100
